Barcelona-style penalty angered Joey Barton
Joey Barton has spoken out about Barcelona's controversial penalty, admitting he found it 鈥渋ncredibly disrespectful鈥� when it happened against him.
Instead of shooting, Lionel Messi passed to Luis Suarez to score in Barcelona鈥檚 6-1 La Liga win over Celta Vigo on Sunday.
Barton was part of the Manchester City side when Arsenal tried - and failed - to score a similar penalty against them in 2005.
"I remember the lads being incredibly incensed by it - we thought it was incredibly disrespectful," he told Mark Chapman, John Motson and Jonathan Northcroft on 5 live Sport.
"Messi doesn't need to be doing that - he is so much better than that."
