Woman shot by abusive former husband backs domestic violence scheme
Men who pose a high-risk of domestic violence are to be given support to change their behaviour under a new scheme.
The programme, known as Drive, is being piloted in Essex, Sussex and South Wales.
Domestic violence survivor and campaigner Rachel Williams filed for divorce from her husband after suffering 18 years of domestic abuse.
A few weeks later, he shot her in the leg and then killed himself. Some time later, the couple's 16-year-old son, who had witnessed the abuse, was found hanged.
She says a programme like Drive could have helped her family.
