A fake tanning disaster has turned one woman from Scarborough into a viral sensation.

Imogen Silversides applied fake tan with a paint roller after reading advice on social media.

She expected a smooth, even tan to appear but sadly she didn't get the outcome she wanted.

The picture of her fake tanning faux pas has been liked on Facebook more than 40,000 times.

The 17-year-old told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 Daily's Peter Allen why the treatment went so wrong.

She said: "I thought I would give it a try, because the lady I usually get it off, couldn’t do it. It didn’t actually turn out the colour I thought it would be."
