Pakistan promises action to combat 'honour killings'
Pakistan's prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, says he will close a legal loophole better to protect women from the violent attacks sometimes called 'honour killings'. His promise was made to Oscar-winning filmmaker, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, whose documentary 'A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness' is nominated in the documentary (short subject) category at the 2016 Oscars. It tells the tale of Saba Qaiser, who survived an attempted honour killing in Pakistan.
