Paul Lambert on challenge that sent him to hospital
Following Stoke defender Andy Wilkinson's retirement from football after suffering concussion, Blackburn manager Paul Lambert recounts a concussive episode he suffered in an Old Firm derby.
"I got a slight knock on the side of the temple, thought nothing of it, played the game and was totally fine," said the former Celtic midfielder of the game against Rangers.
Once back in the changing room, however, Lambert began vomiting and was then rushed to hospital, where he was told he was suffering from concussion.
The midfielder missed Scotland's Euro 2000 qualifying play-off against England as a result.
