Saving the elusive Okapi
This week, a global strategy has been launched to protect the unique and elusive okapi from extinction in the wild. The animal lives in the forests of the north-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. It shares its habitat with armed militias, poachers, illegal gold-miners, as well as rangers trying to protect it. Dee Sebastian went along to the Okapi enclosure at London Zoo to talk to the strategy's lead author, ZSL's Dr Noëlle Kümpel.
