Frank Turner: Don’t buy secondary tickets
Singer/Songwriter Frank Turner has spoken out against secondary ticketing sites and has urged his fans to reject inflated prices.
He told 5 live Investigates: ‘don’t buy [them] … get onto twitter and get onto the forum on my website or just go down to the queue and make friends with people’.
Turner described the secondary ticket market as ‘pretty frustrating’. He encouraged fans to use Twitter and the forum on his website to exchange tickets for their face value. He admitted he cannot ‘police’ touting but said: ‘if you put people together they can deal with it in a friendly way’.
The Society of Ticket Agents & Retailers said: “many customers are pleased to be able to find tickets being resold.
“It’s also important that customers who have tickets they cannot use have the means to be able to sell those on to others, particularly as tickets are not usually something that can be cancelled and refunded.â€
