Amy director says race issues are bigger than #OscarsSoWhite
Oscar nominated British documentary maker Asif Kapadia, who made Amy Winehouse biopic Amy, says there are more important race relations issues than the Oscars diversity row.
He told 5 live there was "more to life than just films and voting for awards'' and he was more concerned ''about black people walking down the street and being shot at by police."
Kapadia won a Bafta and a Grammy for the Amy Winehouse biopic and is poised to win an Oscar at next Sunday's awards ceremony.
