First Muslim woman on FA Council: I still get shocked looks
Rimla Akhtar told 5 live she still gets shocked looks when she tells people she's on the FA Council. But she said the sport is "moving in the right direction".
Rimla is the first Muslim woman to sit on the Council, which oversees the work of the FA, and has received an MBE for her services to equality and diversity in sport.
She told Sarah Brett on Afternoon Edition: "When you combine female with Muslim and Asian and hijab wearing, it's not really what people think of when they think of the FA Council."
She added, they were "obviously pleasantly surprised."
