Eddie Izzard says he feels like he鈥檚 had a 鈥渇ight with a train鈥� after completing the first of 27 marathons.

He's running across South Africa in temperatures that could hit a blistering 40 degrees, and has told 5 live 鈥渁t the moment I鈥檓 a sack of potatoes with a mission. Later I鈥檒l look like an athlete on a mission鈥�.

The comedian is running the marathons in 27 days in aid of Sport Relief, one for each year Nelson Mandela spent in prison.

It鈥檚 not the first time Eddie has tackled an ultra-marathon. In 2009 he completed 43 marathons in 51 days.
