They got a call for help, and ended up getting shot
Police officer Ashley Guindon was shot dead in Virginia on her first shift. She had previously been a Marine Corps reservist, and resigned during officer field training for personal reasons last year. Saturday was her first day back on shift in her new role.
Prince William County Police had earlier tweeted a picture of Guindon following her inauguration on Friday, urging her and another new colleague to "be safe".
Sergeant Jonathan Perok from Prince William County Police told Stephen Nolan that 28-year-old Ashley had a "passion for law enforcement. She was really gung-ho, and ready to work the streets".
This clip is originally from Stephen Nolan on Sunday 28th February 2016.
