Gershwin as he's never been heard before
The taxi horn blasts of George Gershwin's American in Paris are central to the main theme. But, according to the New York Times, the University of Michigan is about to publish a new study of the work which shows that those French taxi horns have been tuned for decades to the wrong pitch. Newshour spoke to Trey Wyatt, a percussionist with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, and owner of California Percussion Rental. He's played the piece dozens of times, and rents out taxi horns so that other percussionists can play it.
