Bristol boss: Why I'm giving women 'period leave'
Bex Baxter, owner of Co-Exist in Bristol, told 5 Live's Afternoon Edition she plans to introduce a period policy to allow female staff to work flexibly around their menstrual cycles.
She said she thought of the idea after seeing a staff member "bent double and white" and too embarassed to admit she had menstrual pain.
The company is now consulting staff on the period policy.
She said: "if you rest at the time of your menstruation then you have the energy, productivity and creativity of three women".
