Chris Ramsey said he thought his support act, or Ant and Dec might be playing a prank on him when four policemen barged into his hotel room on Sunday night.

The comedian told 5 live he shouted at the top of his voice: "But I'm only in my pants!"

The officers had been responding to call about an armed man who had threatened staff, and Chris Ramsey had been mistakenly identified.

He told Sarah Brett and Jonathan Overend: "Everything goes through your head and I've been watching 'Making A Murderer' on Netflix so first thing is that's it, I'm going down for 18 years."

Explaining how he mainly thought it was a prank, Ramsey said: "Ant and Dec popped into my head although I don't think I'm not famous enough for that, but there was a part of me thinking 'Ooh I'm on the up, Ant and Dec are pranking us'."
