A man who killed a trainee paramedic with a single punch has talked about meeting his victim's mother, and said his apology "will never be enough to cover the loss".

In 2011, 28-year-old James Hodgkinson was on a night out in Nottingham when he was punched outside a bar. Despite being hit just once, James suffered a brain haemorrhage and died nine days later.

19-year-old Jacob Dunne admitted manslaughter and was sentenced to 30 months in prison. After his release, Jacob agreed to meet James's parents Joan and David Scourfield as part of the restorative justice process.

They first met in September 2015, and their second meeting was filmed for the ITV1 special 'Meeting My Enemy'.

Speaking on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 live along with Mrs Scourfield, Jacob Dunne said he was "very heavily drunk" when he "decided to throw a punch...which had devastating consequences." He apologised and also thanked his victim's parents for allowing the meeting to take place, which he credited with turning his life around.
