Keown: Wenger has to be more 'demanding' of players
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes Arsene Wenger should ask for more from his current Arsenal team. Arsenal have collected only nine points from their past eight games.
Keown, who was a tough-tackling defender and played under Wenger for eight years, suggests the team is now too nice. He said: "It's a whole set of qualities that make you a champion. It's not just about the tactics - it's the mentality and ability to manage a game. It might even be getting around the ref. You have to fight for every decision."
Keown, 49, has been a staunch supporter of Wenger despite recent criticism but is worried that the winning the title may be “too much” for the current side. He added: "There's no time to be sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. But that's what I saw the other night. I saw players desolate, lying on the floor. Maybe it means too much for these players."
