On shift with a junior doctor
A junior doctor has kept a diary of her night shift to give an insight into her typical working day.
Reena Aggarwal is a Specialist Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Whittington Hospital in London and said "98% of my job is really joyful [...] but we see the really sad things as well".
She said "on some nights we don't really stop at all" and sometimes "people might not get a break."
Junior doctors are striking in a dispute over a new contract. NHS England says the 48-hour strike will put significantly more pressure on the NHS.
