Relatives’ Rights

Should family be allowed in the resuscitation room with their dying loved ones?

Should family members be allowed to witness resuscitation attempts on a dying loved one? New research presented at the 11th International Nursing Conference in Madrid, Spain, shows that allowing relatives into a hospital’s resuscitation room can work. We discuss the research with Wendy Walker – who compiled the findings taken from 18 different studies around the world.

Also on the show, how health care is changing on Easter Island, Chilli; the major problems facing Burma’s health system; and what’s been done to help Ethiopian children suffering with Noma disease.
