Big issue seller marries woman after giving her 50p for meter
A former homeless man has married a woman he gave money to while he was begging in Bristol.
Jack Richardson was living on the streets when he gave Toni Osborne 50p after she cried because she couldn’t afford to keep her lights on over Christmas.
Over the next year, Jack and Toni got to know each other as once a week Toni passed Jack’s Big Issue selling spot on the way to an appointment. When the underground car park Jack was sleeping in was boarded up, Toni offered him a place to stay, and Jack says “it all blossomed from there”.
Jack, who is now doing his degree while working as a Big Issue vendor, told 5 live he has “never been happier in his life” and the couple are “absolutely perfect for each other”.
