Ever had a rock icon defend your band's right to practise?
Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl has leapt to defend teenage metal band The Black Leaves of Envy after their local council banned them playing music over 40 decibels.
The band's guitarist Adam, said "playing the raw music, to get that material, you need to get in a garage and slam stuff out…that time is invaluable and having it taken away was a big blow."
The band practise in a family garage in Cornwall, but the council asked them to keep it down after noise complaints from neighbours.
They decided to reach out to Grohl, who in turn wrote a letter to Cornwall Council, in which he asked them to "reconsider the restrictions" stating that music is a "wonderful, creative outlet for kids".
