Brix Smith-Start talks to Mark Radcliffe about joining The Fall
Ahead of the publication of her memoirs, Brix Smith-Start recalls her time in The Fall.
Brix was born in LA as Laura Elisse Salenger, but changed her name to Brix after the 1980 Clash song, The Guns of Brixton. Brix married The Fall's Mark E Smith and joined the band in 1983.
Brix was also in Courtney Love's band Hole for a day (!), toured with The Bangles, and now runs a fashion boutique with her husband Philip Smart.
