Fake David Haye tried to 'catfish' me

Boxer David Haye claims an online imposter is pretending to be him or a member of his management on social media, inviting women to events and sending explicit images.

One of the would-be victims of the scam got in touch with ѿý Radio 5 live after receiving an online message claiming to be from Haye's representatives.

Councillor Louise Dickens told 5 live Daily's Peter Allen why she thought it wasn't the real former WBA heavyweight champion contacting her but chose to play along and to see what the imposter wanted.

She said: "The whole conversation wanted to be towards sex, no matter how I tried turn away from it. I played along for two days, just to see how far they would push it.”

North Yorkshire Police have confirmed they are investigating but no-one has been arrested.
