Booth: ‘I threw in the towel on David Haye’
Boxing trainer Adam Booth recalls the time he withdrew David Haye from a world title fight.
Haye was fighting Carl Thompson for the IBO cruiserweight title in 2004, but was stopped by the veteran in the fifth round.
Booth, who was Haye's trainer at the time, admits he made the right decision to stop the fight. "I remember thinking when David came back at the end of the second round that he didn't have many rounds left in him."
He added: "David didn't have anything left, and so I threw the towel in. That was an easy decision and I was right."
