X-Men actor Shawn Ashmore, who plays Iceman/Bobby Drake in the film series, said that his character coming out as gay in the comic book series is an extension of the diversity which he said is at the core of X-Men.

Shawn Ashmore was talking about starring in new video game/TV series Quantum Break,which also stars Aidan Gillen, aka Littlefinger in Game of Thrones.

He said:"What makes us different makes us strong, makes us great."

The actor also talked about his enthusiasm for any future X-Men film, although he said he does not foresee an origin story for Iceman as there has been for characters Wolverine and Deadpool.
