Irvine Welsh admits spoofing Andy Murray on Twitter

Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh admits tweeting whilst watching Andy Murray's US Open victory against Novak Djokovic back in 2013.

The passionate Scotsman and Hibernian FC fan tweeted updates, often with expletives, every few minutes to over 29,000 followers.

Welsh told 5 live: "I've got to know Judy, she's a pal. They are really good sports the Murray's, they have a great sense of humour."

He also admitted he will do it again saying: "That's the way I am!"
