Dog owners who have not had their pets microchipped could face a fine of up to £500, as a new law comes into force.

All dogs in England, Scotland and Wales are now legally required to have been chipped by the time they are eight weeks old.

As with all dogs, CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ star Hacker T. Dog has been microchipped, telling 5 live "it doesn't hurt - you don't even know you've had it done, cocker."

"If you've not been chipped, you could be lost forever - and that's not nice," Hacker added.
