Inspiring the next generation of African scientists
Dr Tumani Corrah is a leading medical research scientist in Gambia, where much of his work has focused on treating infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria. As the long-running director of the Medical Research Council in Banjul, he devoted his career to training and mentoring the next generation of young African scientists – so much so that when he retired, a group of former students visited him wearing specially designed t-shirts with his picture.
