Student: 'I had to crowdfund to pay for dad's funeral'
A student who could not afford to pay for her father's funeral has explained how she used a crowdfunding site to cover the costs.
Hanna Head, from East Grinstead, said the costs for her father Victor's funeral came to just over £3000.
She told 5 live's Ore Oduba that the idea for Crowdfunding came from seeing the sort of appeals people posted "I thought...surely this classes as that sort of situation when human kindness could really save the day".
She said she didn't know how friends would react, "I was worried that people maybe would think I was begging for money".
Hanna raised more than three thousand pounds to pay for the funeral, "within a day of it being posted there was a thousand pounds in there and it suddenly seemed real that I could do a funeral and give my dad the send off he deserved."
