Phil Sayer, who said 'mind the gap', has died
He was the man with a voice known the length and breadth of Britain. Phil Sayer's formal, authoritative, but relaxed safety advice is instantly recognisable to London underground commuters.
But the former ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ presenter, who was 62, also delivered less welcome announcements to frustrated rail travellers. Colin Paterson has been finding out about the man behind the microphone.
