Brain chip enables quadraplegic man to play Guitar Hero
An Ohio man who was paralysed from the neck down after an accident is now able to play video game Guitar Hero - thanks to a pioneering brain implant.
Ian Burkhart, 24, broke his neck five years ago diving into the sea on holiday. He went from "being a very independent 19-year-old... to having to rely on other people for everything".
"I really didn't have much movement, to brush my teeth, change my clothes and comb my hair," Ian said.
He told 5 live's Emma Barnett that after volunteering for the trial of the brain chip, he was able to "do individual finger movements", from lifting a coffee cup to playing video games.
