Face transplant recipient: I looked 'like a zombie'
One of the first people in the world to have had a full-face transplant has told 5 live Breakfast that he is lucky to be alive after being electrocuted by an electricity pylon.
Mitchell Hunter, who lives in the United States, became only the fourth person in the world to have had a face transplant when he had his surgery back in 2011.
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast's Clare McDonnell, Mitchell explained that he looked "like a zombie" and that his face was "one big scar" prior to surgery.
He added that he was left "amazed" with the results of the 14-hour surgery, and that "many people can't even tell" that he's had a transplant now.
