Restaurateur: Offering tap water a 'silly' idea
A restaurateur has told 5 live Breakfast that offering tap water to families instead of sugary drinks is a "silly" proposal.
Joel Kissin, who runs a restaurant in London, agreed that action should be taken against childhood obesity but did not agree with the proposal to offer all children tap water as an alternative to sugary fizzy drinks or juice.
"If somebody orders a fry-up should we offer them a salad instead? Should we stand by tube stations and say 'are you sure you want to get that tube or should you just walk?".
According to the Local Government Association, 1 in 5 people aren't aware that licensed premises have to provide free tap water.
