Wife raises £400k for husband's lifesaving cancer treatment
Kate Branden has been in a race against time to raise £400,000 so her husband Mike can receive lifesaving treatment. He has a rare, aggressive form of leukaemia and the new treatment is only available in America.
Kate created an online donation page to fund the treatment and hit her target after eight days. Any extra money raised will be donated to the Bristol Royal Infirmary Haematology Oncology Unit.
“I kept saying to them what else do I need to do? But they just needed the money, now the process can start and I am so grateful to the British public and across the world.â€
This is the second time Kate has fought to save Mike's life after successfully helping to find him a stem cell donor two years ago.
