A Guardian article headlined "Everybody should get a taste of life as a waiter" was shared heavily on Facebook this week after pizza chain Zizzi announced that they were going to reduce staff perks and tips.

First Dates maître d' Fred Sirieix told Emma Barnett that the profession of waitering is "undervalued" in the UK even though it is "the sixth biggest industry in this country".
