Who's to blame for boredom at work?
Do you ever feel a bit bored at work? You're not alone, if you do: last year, 228,000 people typed the question "is it normal to be bored at work?" into a search engine. And today there's the news that a French man is suing his former employer for suffering what he calls "bore out". 44-year-old Frédéric Desnard said his "descent into hell" was similar to a burnout but less interesting. So how serious a problem is being bored at work? Lars Fredrik Svendsen is the author of 'A Philosophy of Boredom' and professor of philosophy at the University of Bergen. He told Dan Damon how he defines boredom.
