A Syrian family's life without their father
The documentary 'Children on the Frontline: The Escape' is a film about a Syrian family who decided to leave Aleppo after their father was taken by the so-called Islamic State. Marcel Mettelsiefen followed the family for three years as they travelled to Germany and adapted to life there. Marcel, Hala and her oldest daughter, Helen, remember their times together.
