Tory council leader welcomes academy U-turn
The chairman of the largely Conservative County Councils Network, Paul Carter, has welcomed the government's decision to drop plans to force all state schools in England to become academies.
He told PM that the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, had rightly listened to the concerns of councillors, teachers and parents.
