Three-year-old Matilda was so upset about the litter in her street she started her own picking campaign.

Matilda鈥檚 dad, Jake from South Shields, told 5 live she had been noticing the litter and told him she would like to start clearing it up.

Jake said that because of Matilda, North Tyneside council put extra bins and warning notices up and organised a joint clean-up.

He said 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud of her. But it鈥檚 upsetting that it鈥檚 been left to a three year old to be the catalyst of this鈥�.
