Many firms now automatically renew customers' insurance each year, but some customers are finding that it鈥檚 putting them out of pocket.

Auto-renewal is supposed to make life easier for the customer to renew their insurance policy, but in many cases they can save money by getting a fresh quote

Kevin Pratt from the price comparison site moneysupermarket.com told 5 live Daily鈥檚 Adrian Chiles that many people could be paying over the odds for insurance because of auto-renewal.

鈥淢y home insurance is up for renewal, I鈥檒l let it slide because I鈥檓 very busy and that鈥檚 when this incremental increase year on year, can mount up.鈥�
