The UK uses about seven million paper coffee cups a day but only 1% get recycled, due to the plastic the paper is combined with.

Some chains say they're working to improve recycling, and will offer a discount to customers who use their own cup.

5 live's Stephen Chittenden took his travel mug to the coffee shops in Cambridge to see if he was charged less.
