Is there still pressure to have a boy in Asian families?
A letter in the Dear Massi section of Asian Image was sent by a woman who is pregnant with a girl for the fourth time, and is worried about the reaction of her family. The woman writes that in the past, her in-laws have been very open about their disappointment in not having a grandson, and consulted a religious leader for a special prayer that she should read in order to give birth to a boy. Is this something still prevalent in Asian families, or have attitudes changed significantly? Raheema and Rifit spoke to Nihal about their experiences
