Can having a mid-life crisis be good for you?
According to a new study the emotional upheaval of a midlife crisis can make us more curious about the world and better able to cope with it's problems.
Dr Oliver Robinson, Senior lecturer in Psychology at the University of Greenwich, who led the research, said “compared with people who aren’t in crisis they are more curious about everything - it is almost like a peaked curiosity period, which must surely be a good thing”.
This curiosity can lead to people doing things that they always wanted to do and become more in tune with the world around them.
To turn a mid-life crisis into a positive, Dr Robinson says you should “remind yourself what used to fascinate and interest you when you were younger and do them now”.
