Birmingham tram launch delayed after track depth issues
The extension of the Midland metro tram in Birmingham city centre has been delayed again – after they discovered a slight discrepancy in the depth of the tracks.
It is the 3rd time the three quarter of a mile route to and from New Street Station has been put back.
Phil Hewitt, director of the Metro, told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ West Midlands: “It is a relatively minor technical problem, which we discovered during testing. We are disappointed that we can't bring passengers in yet. We still hope we will be open for passengers later this month".
