The former Polish president, Aleksander Kwasniewski, has said he fears a British exit from the European Union would be "the beginning of the disintegration of Europe".

Mr Kwasniewski, who took his country into the EU in 2004, told Jamie Coomarasamy on The World Tonight that Brexit would encourage nationalist parties across the continent and damage public opinion of European values.
