Should Royal Mail cut to three deliveries a week?
Ian Senior, an independent postal economist, has told Wake Up to Money that Royal Mail should cut its deliveries to just three a week.
"The business is still viable, particularly on the parcels side, but it's not got a very good long term future" he says.
"You have to realise that value of delivering a parcel is going up, the value of delivering a letter is going down."
The great majority of letter mail is not time sensitive anymore” says Ian, who adds that going down to three days a week would be a huge saving.
