Bookings for British seaside holidays are on the rise
Bookings for Great British seaside holidays are on the rise while foreign holidays are down 5% compared to last year. Resorts including Skegness, Blackpool and Margate are all reporting increasing numbers with people deciding to stay home for some sun, sea and fish and chips.
Matthew Rock, co-writer of ‘From Ebb to Flow’ - a book about the Great British seaside revival said: “There are 11 and a half thousand precious miles here, and there is an innocence about it that takes you back to your childhood. There is something magical and precious about these places.â€
“Go for a week to sleep overseas, but then go to the UK coastline and come alive. Everywhere you look there is something to do, and each resort offers something different.â€
