Australia 'historic' apology over gay convictions
The state of Victoria becomes the first government to apologise for gay convictions. Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews described the past laws, which saw people jailed for being gay, as 'shameful', admitting the 'state-sanctioned homophobia' ruined lives.
