Steve Hilton, who was David Cameron's director of strategy in No10, says Donald Trump is a "serious figure" and that parts of his campaign are "very refreshing".

While he still lacked a "clear policy agenda", Mr Hilton said the Republican presidential nominee "is more interesting and serious a politician than is probably seen over here".
