Sir Salman Rushdie says the issue of economic migration has now become a major political force, which is 鈥減ushing people towards the right wing鈥�.

Speaking to presenter Martha Kearney on stage at Hay festival, the author said that the shift was 鈥渁 danger, not just for the UK, but the whole of Europe鈥�.
