Five-year-old Nemo was taken on a 200-mile round trip to the vets to have a tumour removed.

The pet goldfish underwent a 45-minute operation on his head and shoulder which cost his owners, Roy and Caroline Hands, £200.

Roy said "he had that sort of look in his face, a case of 'help me'".

He added "believe me, you can tell if you see a fish like that you can tell he's struggling. He's a lot happier now".
